How to restore individual files from an imageA frequently requested function is to restore individual files from a disk image. In Langmeier Backup 9 we have responded to this request from numerous users and have integrated this function into our backup software. Langmeier Backup 9 now allows you to mount disk images as a drive in order to restore individual files from the image. This is how you proceed: The easiest way is to double-click on the disk image. This opens a wizard that allows you to open the disk image as a drive. Alternatively, click in the main window of Langmeier Backup on the tab "Tools" tab and then click on"Mount disk image": Select the Langmeier Backup disk image here:
After clicking on ">> Next", the selected disk image appears as a drive in Windows Explorer. Now you can navigate in the folders and copy files and folders that you want to restore. You can change read permissions or take possession of the folders and files if you do not have access to the desired user folders due to restricted permissions. To eject the drive again: If you want to eject a mounted drive again, you can either do this using the "Mount disk image" function by clicking on "Eject" instead of ">> Next". Alternatively, you can remove the image via Windows Explorer by right-clicking on the drive: click on "Eject disk" here You can also mount an image using the "Restore Assistant" wizard. There you will find the option "Browse disk image":
