3 good reasons to switch your default search from Google to Bing

We at Langmeier have been using Google for our searches for years out of habit. But recently we have noticed more and more that the search results there are no longer of the quality they used to be.

What used to be a quick search with clear results is now often a gauntlet of AI-generated boxes, advertising and SEO-optimized marketing texts on Google.

That's why we started testing Bing as our default search engine - with surprisingly positive results. And the more we compare, the clearer it becomes: Bing is now the better choice for many use cases.

Here are three good reasons why you should switch your default search from Google to Bing.

  1. Less AI overload, more real results
Google is increasingly pushing its own AI answers to the fore. If you search for classic web results, you first have to click through additional boxes and "AI blah blah blah". Bing, on the other hand, still delivers clear, direct search results - without detours.

  2. Bing is the foundation of ChatGPT
OpenAI's ChatGPT relies on Bing search. For marketers, this means that Bing SEO is becoming massively more important. Those who continue to rely solely on Google are missing out on reach in the world of AI-supported search.

  3. Bing often delivers better results
While Google is increasingly flooded with SEO-optimized marketing content, real examples and working solutions can be found more frequently on Bing. Practical proof: Google was useless for an assembler directory listing, but Bing showed a working example in the very first hit.

TLDR

For a long time, Google was the first choice for any search. But search has changed - and not for the benefit of users. Too much AI, too much advertising, too much SEO overload. If you want really valuable information, working examples and clear answers today, you will find them more and more often on Bing.

For us at Langmeier, one thing is clear: Bing is not just an alternative, but the better choice for everyday work. Less distraction, more real content - and strategically relevant to boot, because ChatGPT is based on Bing.
