Langmeier Backup FAQ
Langmeier Backup for aBusiness Suite under Windows 7Windows 7 support has already been discontinued by Microsoft. If someone still uses Langmeier Backup under Windows 7 and wants to back up data to the aBusiness Suite Cloud, the following error may occur under Windows 7: "Access to online storage failed" "An error has occurred in the secure channel support" This error appears because Windows 7 does not usually have the TLS 1.2 protocol enabled, but this is required by aBusiness Suite. To activate the TLS 1.2 protocol, proceed as follows: (a) Enable protocol in the Internet properties:
b) The second step is to install the necessary Windows update for TLS 1.2. This is the link to download and install the correct update for your operating system:
To apply this update, Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 must be installed.
c) The previous steps may have already been done by Windows Update. What Windows Update does not do, however, is add the TLS 1.2 protocol to the standard of supported protocols. This third and final step is therefore absolutely necessary:
d) At the end of these measures, a restart of the computer is mandatory.
As soon as you have completed these measures, you can also back up your data to the aBusiness Suite Cloud under Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 using Langmeier Backup 12. Please note that at least Langmeier Backup 12 is required for this.
