The Langmeier Backup V-flex backup software is the specialist for backing up and restoring virtual servers. It is the cost-effective solution for backing up virtual servers and hosts. Thanks to the network-bootable recovery environment, disaster recovery is a breeze. Thanks to Langmeier Backup V-flex, every administrator can get your servers back online in no time.
Below are instructions on how to back up and restore a virtual machine.
- Download Langmeier Backup V-Flex from our website. (Note: To download on a Windows Server operating system, you must add https://www.langmeier-software.com to the trusted sites).
- Create an ISO file under "Tools/Create boot media". This creates the recovery medium with which you can later restore the virtual machine.

- Install Langmeier Backup V-flex in the virtual machines and have hard disk image backups of the system drives performed at regular intervals. In most cases, these backups will be made to a network drive.
- In the event of a worst-case scenario and to test the recovery, boot the virtual machine with the ISO file created in step 2.

- The bootable recovery environment that is now started is based on Windows PE, and you can select the "Connect network drive" option here to access your backup media on the network. The restore is then guided by the wizard.

- Once the restore is complete, the virtual machine simply needs to be restarted - the virtual machine is now repaired and fully operational again.
